Accounts Payable Scholarship
iPayables Accounts Payable Scholarship
iPayables is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a creative business minded student. Please apply by writing a 500-1,000 word essay describing new ways that people will pay for things 100 years from now. Think of how different payments are today from 100 years ago and predict what it will be like in the year 2116. Be creative, but keep it plausible. While we call it the Accounts Payable Scholarship, you don’t need to focus on accounts payable; you can describe personal or business payments or both. It can be a thorough description of the payment process, or it can be in the form of a short story, but the payment process should be well defined.

iPayables AP Automation
Accounts Payable Automation
iPayables started changing the way businesses process invoices in 1999; it started with a simple brainstorming session looking for a creative way to do something better. We’re big fans of finding better ways to do things. We hope this fun scholarship gives students an opportunity to use some imagination to see how they could change the world. We continue to change accounts payable departments with our AP Automation solutions. In the past, accounts payable clerks would make copies and shuffle papers around to get approvals, match invoices against paper purchase orders, and answer supplier inquiries. Now, those tasks are all automated, the paper has been replaced with electronic invoices, automated 2 and 3-way match, electronic approval workflow, and AP clerks spend their time maximizing dynamic discounts from suppliers and analyzing spend data. It’s a good exercise to frequently take a step back and ask, “How could we do this better?”
iPayables Accounts Payable Scholarship does not use student information for any purpose other than evaluating scholarship entries. Except for the scholarship winner, student information is deleted within a few months after the scholarship deadline. The winning entry will be publicized with student’s name, city, state, major, college, and entry. This is a creative scholarship award, not a search for patent worthy technology. If student has proprietary technology they wish to patent, disclosing those ideas in this forum is discouraged.
